Meg Flores is the lead Wedding Planner and Coordinator for the Northern Virginia & Washington DC Region. She hails from Arlington Virginia, and moved to Fredericksburg for college, which she attended at the University of Mary Washington. She studied Spatial Analysis and Urban Studies, and worked part time at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill as a receptionist. She attributes her college job to her love of weddings, and after college, she decided to pursue her passion of wedding planning, and hasn't looked back ever since.
She currently is living her dream in a tiny apartment above an Italian restaurant in Downtown Fredericksburg, where she lives with her husband Jamey and dogs Brooke, Bernie, and Beary. Together, they love loading into their Forester during the wee hours of the night while the beasts are sleeping, and embarking on a road trip exploring the US and Canada. They're avid cooks & foodies, and while they have a bucket list for travel, they're always knocking recipes off the list and popping in on great restaurants for crazy creations - like the lobster rolls they made from the live lobster Meg brought home and freaked out on, or the bison burger with caribou bacon they had on top of a mountain in Alaska that they then hiked down.
My favorite moment during a wedding is when our couples enter the reception after the cocktail hour. They are announced as Mr. and Mrs. for the very first time. The excitement of the room is thrilling and the bride and groom get to see all of these smiling faces and all of their hard work, all together complete and real, for the first time after so many months of planning.
